2020. The year many would simply prefer to forget. Charles F. Glassman said, “There is only one way to survive and thrive when faced with circumstances out of our control and for which we are unprepared: ADAPT.”

Over the past year, countless businesses micro to mammoth, traversing a myriad of industries, have been forced to cultivate new instincts to help navigate these unprecedented times. Many of us have been challenged with renovating our emotional and mental terrain so to nurture this incontrovertible spectrum of change. Nobody wants to be left in the digital dust. Now more than ever, a business’ vitality comes down to virtual capabilities and sustainability. In moments of fragility, you may find yourself tempted to abdicate the responsibility to fight and remain relevant, as this unsettling era continues to upend professional habits and ravage economies. But this is NOT a moment to be reticent. Your business must be agile and open to new growth opportunities to reverse this tempest. Resistance in these uncertain times could prove an untimely end. But not every industry is built of the same fiber and resolve, and as a result, may not possess the essential attributes that can afford safe harbor. You must create your own haven. Yes, it’s daunting, but necessary. Companies that renew and adopt fresh initiatives aimed at sustaining their fiscal presence, can drive prosperity and mitigate risk. Contrastingly, insufficient action will almost certainly guarantee your business meets an untimely expiration. So, keep going because the evidence indicates we are gradually emerging from this. Connection is key. Partnership is crucial. If we lead one another with innovation, empathy, and hope, we will rise.
